As you get ready for WordCamp Ahmedabad 2023 this December, get your taste buds ready for an incredible culinary adventure in the heart of Gujarat. Ahmedabad, famous for its rich history and welcoming hospitality, presents a delightful array of dishes that are absolutely not to be overlooked.

And because we Gujaratis are passionate about our food, I am going to spoil you with choices and categorize them according to your taste and preferences.

Here is a detailed guide featuring must-try foods and recommended food destinations in Ahmedabad:


People feel it is lucky to have tea here. There is something charming, something random about this place which makes it cool.


Lijjat khaman

Khaman is a popular Indian snack that originates from the western state of Gujarat. Made from gram flour and steamed, Khaman has a spongy texture and has a tangy taste. It is typically served with green chutney and can be enjoyed as a breakfast item or as a light snack.


Ganthia is a popular tea-time snack made of flavouredand deep-fried besan strips. The crunchy Gujarati snack tastes best with deep-fried chillies, pickles and tea.

Dalwada

Shree Ambika Dalvada Centre in Gota, Ahmedabad, is a popular fast-food destination offering dalwada, gota, and other snacks.


Fafda is a crispy snack. It is mainly made of besan/chickpea flour with some spices and baking soda. It is served with crispy deep fried sweet pretzels Jalebi. This breakfast is so special to Gujaratis that it is a Sunday special in many homes.


Chhole Kulche

A stall Opposite Ahmedabad Muncipal Market C.G.Road, serves this amazing delhi-styled Chole-Kulche. If you’re a Chole-Kulche lover, then you must try this place.

Ice Gola is a classic Indian summer recipe that is very famous. Made using ice and flavoured syrup, this delicious dessert recipe is a must-have during the scorching summer heat. This ice cream recipe would surely be loved by everybody!
