We’re excited to announce that we’re looking for talented individuals to join the A/V team for WordCamp 5.0! If you have a passion for photography, videography, or just want to contribute to a fantastic WordPress community event, we want to hear from you!
This is a unique opportunity to be part of the WordCamp experience and help capture the energy and spirit of the event. If you’re interested in volunteering your skills, please read below for the available roles and how you can get involved.
Roles Available:
1. Photographer
Role Overview: As a photographer, you’ll be responsible for capturing key moments throughout WordCamp 5.0. This includes taking photos of speakers, attendees, sessions, workshops, and all other event highlights. Your work will help preserve the memories of the event and contribute to the WordCamp archive.
Requirements:
- Experience in event photography, ideally in conferences or similar settings.
- A good understanding of lighting and the ability to work with diverse event environments.
- Own your camera equipment, including lenses suitable for event coverage (wide-angle, telephoto, etc.).
- Ability to provide high-quality, edited images to share with the event organizers for promotional purposes.
Responsibilities:
- Capture high-quality images of sessions, networking, and candid moments.
- Document group shots and specific events, such as keynote addresses or panel discussions.
- Ensure photos are well-composed, well-lit, and in line with the event’s aesthetic.
- Share photos promptly for use in WordCamp’s promotional materials and website.
2. Videographer
Role Overview: As a videographer, you will be tasked with recording key sessions, interviews, and highlights of WordCamp 5.0. Your work will bring the event to life through videos that will be shared on various platforms, including WordCamp’s social media channels and YouTube.
Requirements:
- Experience with event videography and working in dynamic environments.
- Familiarity with different video formats and camera settings.
- Own camera equipment, including video cameras, microphones, and tripod/stabilization tools.
- Basic editing skills to trim footage and deliver polished content.
Responsibilities:
- Film keynotes, sessions, and panels with high-quality video and audio.
- Capture behind-the-scenes footage, interviews with attendees or speakers, and other event moments.
- Ensure audio is clear and video is well-framed, even in changing lighting conditions.
- Collaborate with the WordCamp team to deliver video content that aligns with the event’s messaging and branding.
