WordCamps are always special and WordCamp Ahmedabad was no different. It was the third edition of WordCamp in India’s First World Heritage City. It was a 2-day event from which the first day was the regular day with sessions and the second day was the contributor’s day.

WordCamp Ahmedabad was a well-organized and well mentioned community event. We would like to thank all the organizers, supporters and the team of the enthusiastic volunteers for putting such a great effort to make the event successful.

WordCamp Ahmedabad – Version 3 is gearing up and we all are very excited to take active participation in it.

Each and every WordCampers are remembering the last 2 WordCamps which Ahmedabad has given to all WordPress lovers. What were those memories which are yet in your great minds and which have left a great impression on your mind? I am sure the answers to this question will be really many. One will say, networking with others, some say food and swags, few of them will prefer knowledge sharing sessions and yes, few of them must be loving “After Party” too.

What do you think will be the major attraction for WCAhmedabad V3?

Yes, you are guessing correct and it is “After Party”. As usual, WCAhmedabad is coming up with something really different and unique to entertain you after the whole day conference and lots of knowledge sharing sessions with much more networking with many sponsors.

The biggest attraction which we are bringing this time is nothing but a “LIVE MUSIC PERFORMANCE with Satv”. Yes, it is absolutely true, we are bringing your favorite band “Satv” for your continuous entertainment with their extraordinary melodies to give you the highest level of musical experience. We are conducting this live performance at one of the famous places at Vastrapur “Amphitheater”. 

We have few things to take care of before you go ahead with the “After Party”. I am trying to touch base those things here.

Tickets: You are so lucky this time as we don’t have any ticket for admission to the “After Party” of WCAhmedabad V3 but RSVP your availability at WordCamp Registration Counter to confirm your seat. We will not be able to allow you to attend a party without your confirmation.

Parking: You will get paid parking opposite the venue. Please try to reach little early to avoid heavy traffic during evening hours

Little confused with the team names and their responsibilities? Do not worry, here is a detailed explanation for each of the team. Select your team of interest and get ready to contribute this time with us!!!

1. Polyglot:
This team is for those who want to contribute by translating WordPress into different languages that you think can be done. You will be accompanied by other polyglots who are already translating WordPress into their language.

2. Core:
The core team is the heart of WordPress that makes it possible. Even if you are learning to code or a full-time programmer this is for you to contribute. Here, you can discuss anything related to coding, identify bugs & fix it, discuss related to all functionalities and most importantly help the team to make WordPress better.

3. Core Editor (Gutenberg):
This channel involved suggesting a feature, fixing a bug, testing the existing blocks, and more within the Core Editor. Core Editor here is referenced to Gutenberg Editor.

4. Marketing:
This team is always in search of ways to market WordPress resources and it also acts as a content hub for other WordPress teams. You will learn to write content, understand the marketing philosophy for WordPress and how to engage more clients in this platform.

5. Training:
Looking to create training materials for WordPress? Then, this is the right place for you to create lesson plans, learning materials, and other resources to be used by the instructors during live sessions. If you are hard-core passionate about teaching people and creating amazing learning resources then this team is waiting for you!!!

6. Theme Review:
Everyone loves WordPress themes, isn’t it? That’s why we are WordPress lovers. Whenever you look for beautiful themes and you are a beginner think of people who contribute by reviewing a Theme and help to release it. This is also an integral part of WordPress where you make sure that all the functionalities and design of a Theme is ready to be submitted to the WordPress Theme repository. There is a huge demand in the market for Theme Development services, if you are looking to improve your Theme Development skills and want to become a contributor then you are welcomed into this team.

7. WPTV:
This team is responsible for all the WordCamp videos reviewing and approval process. All the recorded videos of WordCamps at the initial stage are in a raw form that needs to be processed well, captions and subtitles are also added to make it ready for publishing purposes. The best part of this team is that you certainly do not require any extra skills but you learn a lot here while contributing to the community. If you love to work with videos then you must not miss this!!!

8. Support:
If you are looking to answer the queries of the members in the forum or IRC then you are welcome on board. In this team, it is easy to contribute because you have the answers for a few questions or issues that members face and that are good enough to handle it. So, why not join this team and share your answers with other members.

9. Community:
This team is for creating awareness about WordPress through workshops, live sessions, giving a helping hand to the events. Are you eager to organize meetups on a regular basis or a WordCamp then join the team to get the most out of it and know the steps to be followed? This team is great for helping the WordPress Community to grow at different levels.

Register for Contributor’s Day

Team WordCamp Ahmedabad is highly thankful to our Contributor day Venue Sponsor – “Ganpat University”. While everybody is excited and busy preparing for the WordCamp event, I would like to take a moment to thank the Ganpat University for offering such an amazing facility to make the contributor day possible.

Since this is our second edition of WordCamp Ahmedabad, we are expecting 200 contributors to join us on the contributor day. And that leads us to one of the most difficult questions of selecting the Contributor day venue for the event. So, we were in search of a place that allows attendees to contribute well with good internet speed and networking area.

The moment we approached the Ganpat University for the WordCamp Ahmedabad’s contributor day, they were very positive and willing to offer us the venue for the Contributor day event. They straightaway accepted our proposal and gave us the green signal to plan and organize the contributor day at Ganpat University. They have not only given us permission but they also helped us while planning the whole setup for the WCAhmedabad Contributor day venue.

About the Venue

Ganpat University City Office & Information Centre is one of the finest facilities in Ahmedabad. All the contribution channels will be organized in the fully air-conditioned spacious interaction-rooms with the projector that can accommodate up to 120 attendees at the moment.

If you are regular WordCamper, you must be having a nice and colourful collection of T-shirts. WordCamp Ahmedabad team is planning to run a drive for poor and needy people to bring happiness on their faces with your additional T-shirts of WordCamps. We wish to leverage our efforts of organising WordCamp with a donation as well. 

As a result, we have decided to keep a “Donation Box” which will accept your old or unused WordCamp T-shirts in any count. We are going to have few regular drives to visit few Orphanages, Old-age homes, few public hospitals including NGOs to distribute your donated T-shirts.
