You require no special talent to be part of the volunteer. An open mind to help the community with lots of learnings, fun and also knowledge-sharing. We are always open for the WordPress beginners and lovers.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<h2>Importance<\/h2>\n<p>What is the importance of being a volunteer at WordCamp? What would you get if you become a volunteer? This is the natural question that arise in our conscious mind. Talking about the importance, you gain lot of credibility, happiness and self-motivation that yes you can do it. Believe me this satisfaction and experience is rare to get. You have people around you who are always ready to guide you and yes you never find people making fun of you for not knowing the process of doing the work. Wow! It\u2019s something about taking a pride of volunteering in such a strong community and you always see yourself growing. Below are listed some more of them:-<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A chance to meet attendees from all over the globe.<\/li>\n<li>An opportunity to interact with the WordPress Gurus.<\/li>\n<li>You are a part of this big event the whole day.<\/li>\n<li>Receive appreciation for all efforts, time invested and helping the attendees.<\/li>\n<li>A memorable WordCamp Ahmedabad T-Shirt<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h2>Roles &amp; Responsibilities<\/h2>\n<p>Below are all the detailed responsibilities explained department-wise for your convenience.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Pre-Event Setup<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Setting up stage, sound system if you technical person,<\/li>\n<li>Arrangements of sign-boards for the convenience of the attendees.<\/li>\n<li>Instalments of the stalls, preparing swags and also understand the venue in a better way to avoid last minute chaos.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Registration<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Helping the team to distribute ID cards and verify the person attending.<\/li>\n<li>Checking the names of the attendees with the lists.<\/li>\n<li>Reporting the team leader in case of attendee\u2019s name is missing.<\/li>\n<li>Arranging all ID Cards alphabetically to avoid any confusions.<\/li>\n<li>Arrangement of separate counters for sponsors, speakers and attendees.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Venue Guidance<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Helping attendees with the directions to reach at desired spot.<\/li>\n<li>Sort out venue confusions, if any for sponsors, speakers and attendees.<\/li>\n<li>Help sponsors to guide them towards the stalls installed.<\/li>\n<li>Guiding speakers towards auditorium and other related tasks.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Swag Distribution<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Verifying the attendee and distributing swag per person.<\/li>\n<li>Keep track of proper stock of the swags for all the attendees.<\/li>\n<li>Distributing T-Shirts to all attendees as per the size mentioned.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Photography<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>If you are good at photography and have DSLR camera you can help in capturing photos and videos from time to time during the event.<\/li>\n<li>A good sense of capturing candid moments.<\/li>\n<li>A good understanding of all camera functions to capture the moments.<\/li>\n<li>Quick in taking snapshots, videos at auditorium, networking area, food area, etc.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Social Media<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Good at writing captions for every posts.<\/li>\n<li>Having good analysis power for creating good engagement per post.<\/li>\n<li>Comfortable with Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn.<\/li>\n<li>Timely communicative with the team leaders to avoid any confusions or miss out important posts.<\/li>\n<li>Understanding of the use of hashtags wherever applicable.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Emcee\/ Time Keeping<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>One of the most crucial role of keeping track of time of each speaker.<\/li>\n<li>Good presence of mind over time and situation.<\/li>\n<li>Proper coordination with other team members to complete the sessions on time.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Sponsor Assistance<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Help sponsors for setup at their stalls.<\/li>\n<li>Understanding &amp; responding fast their each and every needs.<\/li>\n<li>Good communication skills is expected.<\/li>\n<li>Guiding them for reaching out at different spots.<\/li>\n<li>Helping them reach the venue on time with no further confusions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Speaker Assistance<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>As the time is precious so are our beloved speakers, guide them to reach auditorium for their sessions on time.<\/li>\n<li>Giving them understanding of the time allotted to them.<\/li>\n<li>Guiding them on stage with their presentations and making it sure to avoid any technical issues during their presentations.<\/li>\n<li>Make them feel comfortable before their sessions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Food &amp; Snacks<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Help with the time to time supply of the food.<\/li>\n<li>Proper communication with the team leader and catering people.<\/li>\n<li>Guiding people with the food coupons and other necessities.<\/li>\n<li>It is very important that the food court is kept clean and the food offerings start on time.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Thank you applying for Volunteer.
