A website’s performance gets hit by a variety of internal and external reasons. From frontend, backend, network, and even the device affect the user perceived performance.
It is a common misconception that optimization ends with smushing images, minifying & concatenating Javascript and CSS, and enabling caching. In reality, some of these can adversely affect the performance and user experience.
This talk will tackle performance in a WordPress context, explain major performance conundrums, expose some suggested best practices which can be counter intuitive. He will share resources to explore each issue

Dhaval has been a WordPress enthusiastic since its early days. To put in perspective, he used to earn his college pocket-money by doing blog migrations from Movable Type to WordPress back in the day.
